Climate & housing

NYPC Fellowship: Youth Housing Rights in a Changing Climate

Climate crisis, young people, and the right to housing in Seoul.

Through my NYPC fellowship with PEACEMOMO, I’m developing a research project on how climate risks intersect with the everyday housing conditions of young people in Seoul. The focus includes heat, flooding, cooling costs, and the pressures facing young renters.

Climate vulnerability & young renters

How do housing conditions and financial constraints shape young people’s exposure to climate risks — and their ability to respond?

Research methods

  • Statistical indicators of housing and climate vulnerability
  • Policy and literature review
  • Planned interviews on everyday experiences
  • Selected Northeast Asian city examples and lessons for Seoul

Current stage: research development. Findings will be added as the project progresses.
